If We Lose Our Electricity & Our Internet, Then I'll Lose My Job Again! Please Help!
My Story:
I'm divorced and currently have guardianship over my teenage son. He lives with me full-time, and I'm so happy to have him in my life. We love spending quality time together, and we both love to write. My son and I don't have any other family in the area, so it's just us against the world right now, and at times that's caused us to struggle financially, but we're doing the best that we can to stay afloat.
Earlier this year, I was severely injured in a car accident, and since then, we have faced one hardship after another. When I was injured, I wasn't physically able to work, and I also had to make repairs to my car that kept me out of work as well. All in all, I was out of work for a few weeks, but instead of remaining patient and waiting for me to return to my position, I was let go of from my job. To be honest, I feel very wronged by my former employer, but I have since found a new job and am working hard to get back on track for the sake of my family. While I enjoy the work that I'm doing and the time that I get to spend with my son now that I work from home, I'm struggling to financially recover from the months-long gap in employment that I dealt with as a result of my injuries and subsequent termination from my old job.
Right now, I'm months behind on almost all of our utilities because I've been sacrificing those bills in order to try to keep up with our rent. Now, we're facing an imminent shut-off to all of our services. This includes our water, our electricity, and our internet service, all of which are vital to us. Without running water, we can't remain in our home, and because I work from home, if we lose our internet or our electricity, then I'll lose my job again. This assistance is vital to the stability of my family, and if we're able to receive this help, we would be deeply grateful.
