This person has left the following thank you note:
I want to humbly and sincerely thank each of you from the bottom of my heart that have donated to assist me and my son Joshua Colton with regaining our independence and being able to start over in a new residence without the pressure of unresolved debt. I know that we all have our own faith; and want to send each of you a prayer of blessings. My prayer to you all is that your creator bless you abundantly in every way; may your hearts always be full of love and joy; may your cabinets and bank accounts never go bare or empty; and most of all may the grace and favor of your creator go before you in all things. Because of your kindness Joshua Colton and I will forever keep you all in our prayers. They say that strangers can sometimes be angels in disguise and that's what all of you are. Thank you so much with tears in my eyes. I am so very grateful!!!
My Son Was Wounded in a Shooting During a Home Invasion! Please Help Us Settle into Our New Home.
My Story:
I am a single mother of an 8-year-old son that is the sweetest, most loving, and kind young man. He was born premature and diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. We have had so many challenges with his health over the years, but he is blessed and has minimal developmental delays. He is now in the 3rd grade and doing great. Unfortunately though, we have experienced a tremendous, life-altering tragedy. Our home was invaded by an armed man who was attempting to rob us. In the chaos of the event, he shot and wounded my son. It's very difficult for me to speak about, but my son and I are at least physically stable.
On the other hand, the event has left us with very severe symptoms of PTSD, and my son and I were both in intensive therapy as a result. In fact, I have only recently been able to return to work after the trauma that I experienced from the shooting. We have both recently been discharged from trauma-focused therapy to assist us with processing what happened. We had to very abruptly leave our old home due to the aftermath of the shooting, and the cost to relocate was difficult for us to manage. Fortunately, I have found a new residence for us. However, in order to move forward with getting a new home, we're required to transfer the electricity service to my name. Right now, we have an outstanding balance with the service at our old home, so we can't get the electricity service transferred until we're caught up. So, I'm very humbly asking for assistance with getting that service transferred so that we can move into our new home.
I can't even begin to put into words how meaningful this assistance would be for my family. It's taken so long for us to recover from the shooting, but this would finally put us on a path towards stability again. We'll be able to leave the event behind and move into our new home, and for that, we would be very grateful. Thank you all for your generosity and compassion. My son and I will never forget this.
