Our Landlord Sold Our Home & Gave Us 30 Days to Move with No Warning. Please Help Us Afford to Move!

My Story:

I'm a single mother with three amazing kids at home. My oldest is 15 years old, followed by my 11-year-old, and my 8-year-old. They're all really wonderful, and I'm so proud to be their mother. I work hard to provide for them, and I'm currently working full-time for a manufacturing company here in Indiana.

My children and I have lived in our home for three years and have never had any problems with our landlord until recently. Earlier this month, they served us with an eviction notice and are giving us just 30 days to vacate our home because they sold it. We weren't given any advanced notice of this, and we didn't even know it was an option they were considering. Now, we have to pick up and leave our home on very short notice. We don't have anywhere in the area to go because we don't have any friends or family in the area, but my mother recently relocated to Tennessee, so we've decided to go there for the time being. I've been able to line up a job there, but we don't have the savings available to afford the move on top of our other bills, so I'm very humbly asking for assistance with renting a U-Haul.

To be honest, the situation that we're in right now is dire, and I'm really scared for the future of my family and upset with our landlord. My children have been amazing through all of this, and they've even had to miss celebrating their birthdays this month (all of them are within three weeks of each other), but they're afraid too. They're about to start a new school year, and now they have to deal with this situation; as a mother, that's heartbreaking to me. Still, I know that the only path forward for us is to move to Tennessee because otherwise, we'll end up homeless. We don't have the income available to do this on our own, so we would be exceptionally grateful to all of the generous people who make this move possible for us. Thanks to this assistance, we would be able to start off on the right foot after our move, and I promise that once we're stable financially, we'll look to pay this forward.
