After I Spent Time in the ICU & My Husband Was in a Coma, We Need Help Keeping Our Home Please!

My Story:

I am a mother of three children, two boys aged 29 and 21 years old and a 16-year-old daughter. Our two sons are off living their own lives, and our youngest son is a United States Marine, which is very stressful for us sometimes, but our daughter is in high school and is still living with us. We're extremely proud of all of our children. My husband and I have been married for 23 years. As for work, I have been a registered nurse for 32 years, and my husband is a carpenter.

We ran into trouble starting in 2020 when I went septic and my adrenal glands stopped working, so now I am on cortisone for the rest of my life. I was in the ICU with no blood pressure for a week. Then, in October of the same year, my husband fell down our patio stairs, suffered a traumatic brain injury and was in a coma for 16 days. We talked about hospice the night before and the next day he woke up. He still has some memory problems and has tremors, but thankfully, he's doing a lot better now. However, after the incident, his health has been slowly deteriorating, and it reached the point where he could no longer keep up at his job. He was let go of without any good explanation, and since then, we've been having a difficult time keeping up with a lot of our bills, the most important of which is our mortgage.

My family has been hit hard by the medical issues we've experienced, and on top of my husband losing his job, we're drowning in medical debt too. It's weighing us down and taking more and more from our month to month budget, so we're not in a position where we can catch up on our mortgage on our own. Personally, I'm very afraid that our family is going to lose our home.

I don't want to lose our house because it's truly the only thing we have left that is ours. We worked so hard and for so many years to be able to afford to give our family a place to call home, and to be on the verge of losing that is terrifying beyond words. So, with that said, we are very humbly asking for assistance with catching up on our mortgage, and we would be eternally grateful to everyone who lends us a hand with that. Thank you to everyone who takes the time to consider my family for this assistance, and I promise that we will never forget the generosity we're shown.
