My Grandpa is Relying on Me for Care, but My Vehicle is Stuck in a Repair Shop Right Now!

My Story:

I'm living on my own and working hard to support myself and further my career. I work full-time as an administrative assistant for a great company, and I've been at that job for 5 years now. My mother, who raised me on her own, always taught me to live a balanced life, so beyond work, I love to hike practice yoga, read books, watch movies, and I love spending time with my friends and family most of all.

I make enough to over all of my expenses on my own, but I live in Los Angeles, and the rents and cost of living here have increased very quickly. Still, even through the pandemic, I have always paid my rent and my other bills on time, and I take pride in that. Living a simple life and not splurging on expensive things or really anything at all has allowed me to remain stable financially. Despite that, I live from paycheck to paycheck now because of the inflated cost of living and because I'm still paying off my student loans. So, I had no savings when my car engine unexpectedly 'blew up'. I use my car to get to work and to drive twice a week to help my mom take care of my grandpa who has dementia, advanced diabetes, and level-3 kidney failure. Because I don't have any savings to rely on or income to sacrifice to get these repairs done, I'm very humbly seeking assistance.

Thankfully, a majority of the repairs are covered by insurance, but the out of pocket cost is still exceedingly high. Paying that would mean sacrificing my rent for a month, but at the same time, I really need my car to get around, so I feel stuck. Simply put, this assistance would get me out of a dangerous and difficult spot, as I'll be able to continue to care for my family and get to and from work. My grandfather and mother are relying on me, and with thanks to this act of generosity, I can continue to be there for them.
