I'm Caring For My Parents, but I'm Struggling to Cover Recent Medical Bills & Need Urgent Help!

My Story:

I'm divorced and living with my mom and dad. They moved in with me six years ago when my dad retired early due to some health issues. He had COPD and is on oxygen 24/7 now. As a result, he can barely leave the house except to go to doctor's appointments, and he relies on me and my mother for his care 24/7. She works hard to take care of him, but sometimes she needs help too. I work hard to provide for them both, and I've always been a very independent person, but I'm happy to have both of them in my life. Before taking my parents in, I raised three children basically on my own. I was married to my ex-husband for 25 years, but he was an alcoholic and was rarely functional. I had three boys. Eddie, my oldest, is a police officer and has three beautiful children. My middle son, Sean, passed away at the age of 27, and he was also a police officer. My youngest son is 22 and just moved out on his own this year and is doing very well.

Like I said, I work hard to provide for my family and am employed full-time; however, we definitely get by from paycheck to paycheck, and I struggle to deal with anything that falls outside of handling our monthly bills. I've been experiencing some medical issues lately, and while they haven't kept me out of work, the tests and treatments I've had to get done have been expensive for me to handle. My insurance has covered some of the costs, but I'm on the hook, so to speak, for the rest of them. Right now, I'm looking at a situation where I'm going to have to choose between paying these medical bills and for our monthly bills, and I'm afraid.

If these medical bills go unpaid, it will destroy my credit score, lead to my wages being garnished, and I could even be denied care. With all of those consequences in mind, I'm very humbly asking for assistance with the medical bills that I have to catch up on. This help would mean so much to me and my family, and it will ensure that I can stay healthy and strong enough to keep supporting my mother and father. That's my greatest priority right now, and I would be very grateful for the help that I receive. Thank you for taking the time to read and consider my story.
