I'm On The Verge of Losing My Home Due to COVID! Please Help Us!

My Story:

I'm a single mom, and I raised my wonderful 22-year-old son on my own. He has mild autism, and he works incredibly hard and is extremely creative. His plans right now are to go back to school to finish his degree in Film and Video Editing because he was finally able to secure financial aid. We're both so excited for him to be able to pursue this opportunity, and we're just grateful to God. We both love attending church, the outdoors, surfing and keeping fit. In fact, I work as a certified massage therapist, and I've been doing that for 16 years now. I love what I do, and I enjoy teaching my clients stretch therapy.

I was self employed before the pandemic, and as you can imagine, it took a huge toll on my business. There were points where I didn't have any clients at all, and I was unemployed for a while. When I did find a job again, I had to leave after nine months because COVID was getting worse, people stopped booking, and I didn't feel safe with the protocols my employer had in place because I'm immunocompromised. Now, I'm unemployed again, but I'm trying to start my own practice up again. In the meantime though, I'm really worried about being able to cover our rent because we have almost no income right now.

I was able to cover last month's rent using my savings, but now there's nothing leftover, and I'm worried that if we fall behind, we'll be evicted. It's hard to start over again, and it's been rough, but this assistance would do a lot to get my son and I off to a fresh start on the right foot. He gets so stressed and wants to help, and he does when he can contribute, but he's going through his own stress and dealing with a new job as well. Both of us would be so grateful for this assistance, and I promise that we will look for ways to pay it forward as soon as we're able.
