I'm Trying to Rebuild After Fleeing Domestic Violence, but I Need Help Keeping Our Home Please!
My Story:
I'm a single mother, and I have six awesome kids. I'm raising them on my own, and while that's difficult to do, I love and appreciate them so much. It's truly a huge honor to be their mother, and I'm exceptionally proud of them all. As a single mother, I work very hard to provide for my children, and I've been working as a nursing assistant at a local children's medical facility for the last 10 years.
Very recently, my children and I fled an extremely dangerous and violent domestic abuse situation. We had to flee our home for some time, and I had to file an emergency protection order for myself and my children to ensure our safety. Since then, I've been trying to pick up the pieces of a broken home both figuratively and literally speaking, as my ex-husband destroyed many of the doors and windows in his many fits of rage and violence. The emotional toll this has taken on me and the children has been very steep, but the financial cost has been just as steep. I'm trying to focus on getting us back on a budget, but in the chaos of having to flee domestic violence, it's been difficult for me to continue working and keeping up with our bills as well. We're behind on our mortgage, and I'm afraid that if we continue to stay behind on it, we'll lose our home to foreclosure.
For the sake of my children, I'm very humbly asking for assistance with our mortgage. They've been through a lifetime of hardship already, and I can't even bring myself think about the fact that they could be subject to even more if we lose our home. Getting this help would be so important to my family, and it would bring us further away from the nightmare that we've been living through lately. Knowing that my babies will have a safe place to call home for the foreseeable future would fill me with gratitude towards all of the kind and compassionate people who help us keep our home.
