I Used My Rent to Repair My Only Vehicle! Please Help Me Keep My Home!

My Story:

I'm a single dad, and I have a wonderful daughter who I have split-custody of. She's 6 years old, loves Disney princesses, the Avengers, and spending time outdoors with me. She already knows how to ride her bike, and now, I'm teaching her to roller skate too. We also have two dogs that we love to take to our local dog park whenever we get the chance. In order to support us, I work two jobs. I'm a full-time sales representative, and I also work part-time delivering food in the Richmond area.

Between working two jobs, I normally have enough to get by and even a little bit to put away each month. Even though we're usually stable financially, this recent hardship has put me on the brink of losing my home. My vehicle's transmission went out recently, and I had to pay to replace it so that I could continue to get to work and make deliveries. Originally, I thought my vehicle was covered by the warranty, but it had expired by just 3,000 miles. As a result, I had to pay for the repairs completely on my own, and those came out to be around $5,000. Getting my vehicle back on the road took everything I had saved, and then some more. Now, I can't afford my rent for this past month and this upcoming month is coming due soon as well.

After repairing my only vehicle, I'm now in danger of losing my home, so I'm humbly seeking assistance with the rent that I owe. Losing my home could cost me everything. I wouldn't be able to keep both of my jobs, and I would have to start living with friends or family. Most importantly though, I would lose custody of my daughter, and I wouldn't be able to see her as regularly as I do now. I want to be a part of her life, and she needs me to be there for her. With this help, I'll be able to continue to be there for her, and I can continue to be the father that she needs me to be. I will never forget the kind and generous people who allow me to do that, and I want to thank everyone who lends me a hand with keeping my home.
