We Relocated Right Before Our Newborn Arrived. Please Help Us Get Caught Up on Our Phone Bill!

My Story:

My husband and I have two children together, and I just gave birth to our second one in February of this year. My pregnancy was very hectic, but we're happy that our child arrived safely and in good health. Towards the end of my pregnancy, we made the decision to relocate from the east coast to California in order to find better-paying jobs and to be closer to our family. Six months ago, we made the move happen, and for a number of reasons, we've struggled to stay on our feet since then.

The biggest reason we're having trouble finding our footing is due to the expenses and the length of the processes we've had to go through to obtain our professional licenses. I'm a registered nurse by trade, and I had no idea that the process for getting my license in California was going to take so long and be so expensive. My husband is an electrician by trade, and he's having the same problem. I've been able to get my license and start working, but my husband has experienced delays with that because shortly after our son was born, he applied for family leave. He waited for six weeks only to be denied in the end. Because of all of the delays that we've experienced, we're behind on some of our bills and desperately need help.

We're two months behind on our phone bill, so I'm asking for assistance with that until we can both start working again. I'm going back to work soon, and my husband will be once he gets his license. In the meantime, we would be very grateful for this short-term assistance that will keep us out of a long-term cycle of poverty. Thank you.
