I Can't Work Consistently Due to Injuries I Sustained in Afghanistan. Please Help Us Keep Our Car!

My Story:

I'm a veteran and a married father. My wife and I have a beautiful 8-year-old daughter who has a birthday coming up. She's a very talented and smart kid, and she regularly gets honor roll at her school. We work hard to make sure that she does well in school, and we're both very proud of her. My family is very religious, and we're devout Christians who love the Lord. In fact, my wife is a preacher and a chaplain for our local police office. She's a wonderful woman, and a truly remarkable mother.

I'm a leak technician by trade, and I work for Birmingham Water Works. I spend a lot of time on my feet during the day, and that's gotten more and more difficult for me over the years because of injuries that I sustained while serving in Afghanistan. Lately, I've been experiencing some knee problems that have kept me out of work for long periods of time. Before that, my wife and daughter both had COVID on separate occasions, so I had to quarantine with them twice. Those quarantines and the times that I've missed work due to my knee injury have both cause us to lose a lot of income, and now, we can't afford some of our major bills this month. Specifically, we're going to come up short on our car payment, and I'm worried about our vehicle being repossessed down the line.

I'm seeking assistance with our car payment because I'm worried about falling further and further behind on this bill. Currently, I'm seeking a new determination about my VA benefits, as my conditioned has worsened over time, and I'm hoping that I'll be able to receive additional benefits to supplement our income for when I miss work. In addition to that, I've been doing some physical therapy to work on strengthening my knees, and I'm hopeful that they'll get better soon. Until then though, it's important for us to keep up to date on our bills so that we don't fall too far behind to catch up eventually. This assistance would see us through this short-term hardship, and it would ensure that we're able to keep our vehicle until I can start working consistently again. Thank you all in advance for this generous support.
