I'm Out of Work for the Summer, & I Need Help Keeping Our Home Until I Can Return to Work!

My Story:

I am a single mother of one daughter. She's 12 years old and is getting ready to start her last year of middle school. She's very active and loves sports and video games. While spending time with my daughter comes first and foremost for me, I do work a full-time job as a substitute teacher in one of the largest school districts in the country. However, because I'm not salaried, I don't receive a paycheck during holidays and breaks. This is the major source of our current financial hardship.

Throughout the school year, I'm able to earn enough income to keep my family afloat, but I struggle to make ends meet for us during the summer. I always try my best to prepare to be out of work for two and a half months, but this year, that's been especially difficult. With the cost of living rising and inflation taking more and more of my paycheck, I've struggled to put away enough to keep us going over the summer months that I'm going to be out of work. Normally, I would try to find a part-time job, but my daughter is also going to be home during the summer, and I have to take care of her 24/7, making it difficult to find another job. I have enough saved up to make it through a lot of the summer break, but I'm not going to have enough to cover about a month of our rent while I'm out of work. Falling behind on our rent would throw us off balance for months after that, and it could even lead to us losing our home. While I'm current on our rent right now, without help, we're going to fall behind before I return to work in the Fall. So, I'm humbly asking for assistance with a month of our rent so that we don't fall behind over the summer.

Most importantly, this assistance would ensure that my daughter and I keep our home. As long as we're able to do that, I can figure everything else out. I know that we can make it through the summer with this support, and once I return to work in the Fall, I'll be able to take care of everything on my own again. In the meantime, we would be deeply appreciative of everyone who lends us a hand with our rent. We will find a way to pay this forward as soon as we're able.
