We're Welcoming a New Baby Soon & I'm in a High-Risk Pregnancy. I Can't Work & We're Behind on Rent
My Story:
My husband and I are parents to a rambunctious 5-year-old, and we're also expecting another child in a matter of days! My 5-year-old is very energetic and loves to swim, and he's very excited to welcome the newest addition to our family. My husband has a lot of health issues that have forced him to become a stay-at-home dad, and I work full-time for a life alert monitoring agency.
I'm used to working full-time, but for the past few months I haven't been able to work full-time hours due to my pregnancy. My doctor has deemed my pregnancy high-risk, and they recommended that I cut back on the hours that I work in order to ensure the safety of myself and my baby. For the past few months, I've only been able to work part-time, and now, after my baby is born in the next few days, I'm going to have to take maternity leave for the next month or so. During that time, I'm only going to be making about 60% of what I would typically earn, and we're not going to be able to keep up with our rent now. For the sake of our newborn and our son, my husband and I are humbly asking for assistance with our rent for this upcoming month.
Our rent is coming due, and with limited work and a newborn to take care of, we don't have enough to cover it. I'm worried that my family will be forced out of our home, and I don't know where we'll go if that happens. Our children need a stable environment to grow up in, and this short-term assistance would give them that. It would have a pronounced, long-term effect on our family, and this support would also set a wonderful example for our children. They'll grow up knowing this story for the rest of their lives because it's important for them to follow the example set by the generous people who come together to help us. Thank you all so much for the support in advance, and I promise that we will find a way to pay it forward.
