I'm Trying to Balance My Family, School, & Work, but I'm Going to Fall Behind & Need Help!
My Story:
I'm a full-time college student and a mother of two boys. My oldest child is 8 years old and was diagnosed with chronic migraines recently, so I have to take care of him regularly. My youngest also just started school, and that's been really good for him so far. I work hard for my kids, and I was working full-time in healthcare before the pandemic began. However, my employer decided my position was expendable, so they let go of me shortly after the pandemic started.
When I was laid-off I got really scared, but eventually, I started to view it as an opportunity. So, I made the decision to return to school to finish my degree. Balancing school, work, and the needs of my two children has been difficult, and I've been doing what I can to manage everything, but we're about to fall behind. Between getting my children to and from school, caring for my son when he has migraines, attending my classes, and completing my schoolwork, it's difficult for me to find the time to work. I try to pick up shifts and odd jobs when I can, and I typically manage to make enough to cover our rent, but lately I've been falling behind on our other bills.
I haven't been able to keep up with our car insurance and our phone bill, so I'm seeking assistance with those two past due bills. Driving without car insurance is just asking for trouble, and I have to have a way to get my sons to school and to doctor's appointments. As for my phone service, without it, I can't work at all. Without help, I'm afraid we're going to fall further and further behind. On the other hand, this assistance would get us caught up, and it would give us the opening we need to push on. I'll be able to finish school, find a career, and give my children the stability they need to grow. For all of that, I want to thank everyone who supports us in advance.
