My Story:
I am a single mother of four. I work full-time and am in school full-time as well. It's difficult to raise a family, work, and go to school. I know that if I can keep pushing forward to finish my degree, I can achieve my dream of starting my own business and becoming a small business owner. So while my days are filled with stress and turmoil, I'm still hopeful and very grateful for my children who always put a smile on my face.
I generally earn enough to pay my expenses, but with a recent death in the family due to Covid and my son's long-term health issues worsening, I have had a more difficult time maintaining everything. My wages are now being garnished due to unpaid medical bills, and my son has now been in the hospital for 2 months now. This has made it very difficult to maintain my regular work hours, so I have gotten paid a lot less than usual. I also had a death in the family, my god mother, who lived in Jersey recently passed away after getting COVID-19. It has been an excruciating month for my family.
All of this hardship has been making it difficult to cover our bills, and right now, we're significantly behind on our rent. My son's condition has started to worsen, and now we're looking at a heart surgery for him. Through all of this, it's vital that we be able to keep our home as I look to continue to support and care for my son. Eventually, he will be able to get healthy again, and I'll be able to get back on top of my hours. However, until then, we desperately need help keeping our home. For the sake of my whole family, and especially my ailing son, I would be deeply grateful to everyone who lends us a hand with our rent. Thank you.
