Please Help Us Repair Our Car So My Grandaughter Can Get to School!
My Story:
I'm a single grandmother, and I have an amazing granddaughter who is a full-time student and is living with me. She joined the Army Reserve to both serve her country and help pay for her college expenses. My granddaughter is a really brilliant young woman, and she's currently studying to become a forensic scientist. I'm exceptionally proud of her, both for pursuing her education and for her service to our country.
Until last year, I was working full-time in order to support my granddaughter and I. After taking long-term disability due to a serious illness, I haven't been able to work full-time for almost a year. The disability payments that I receive aren't enough to cover all of our bills, so I have to scrape from our savings in order to keep us going from month to month. I'm able to handle all of our monthly bills that way, but I can't deal with anything unexpected. Our family vehicle started leaking oil last month and this car is our only transportation; my granddaughter uses this vehicle to get to and from school every day. We can't drive it while it's leaking oil, but our budget is very tight, and I can't afford to get it fixed without sacrificing elsewhere.
It's vital to us that we get our vehicle back on the road, but we need assistance if we're going to be able to do that. So, I'm very humbly asking for assistance with paying for the repairs that our vehicle needs. I'm worried that without this help, my granddaughter will start to struggle in school. She's so dedicated to her education and to her career, and I don't want her to struggle because of this short-term hardship. For her sake, I would be very relieved and grateful for this support, and I promise that I will do what I can to repay the generosity that we're shown.
