After My Sister Lost Work to COVID, I've Been Working 3 Jobs! Still, We Need Help with Rent Please!
My Story:
I am a single mother living with my sister and awesome son. My son is very intelligent, and his favorite subject is science. He also loves dinosaurs and can name and describe at least fifty of them. I work as a rideshare driver, a driving instructor, and as a temporary employee for a tax service. My sister lost employment due to Covid-19 and a recent vertigo diagnosis.
After my sister was diagnosed with severe vertigo and lost her job, I've had to work twice as hard to take care of my family. Even while working three jobs, it's been difficult for me to keep us all caught up on our bills. I burned through all of our savings last year just trying to keep us afloat, and now we're in an emergency situation with nothing to fall back on. While my son was out of school for spring break, I had to stay at home with him for the duration of his break, so I couldn't work for a little over a week. I thought we would be able to make it, even with my paycheck being reduced, but then I didn't get as many hours this month as I had anticipated, so now we're going to come up short on our rent this month. Falling behind on our rent would mean almost certain eviction, so I'm humbly asking for assistance with keeping up before it's too late.
All of the family that I have lives in my household, so losing it would be devastating for my son, my sister, and myself. I don't know how we would ever recover from that. In an effort to help stabilize us, my sister has been working for remote opportunities to earn money, and she's on the verge of finding something. Until then though, we would be very grateful to everyone who helps save our home. I will never forget the kind and caring individuals who helped save my family from homelessness.
