This person has left the following thank you note:

I cannot describe the relief and immense gratitude I felt this morning when I saw that my financial burden has been lifted. I only had three days left in my apartment before the full balance was due and I would be forced to move out. The physical and emotional pressure of trying to find where I could get these funds in order to keep a roof over my head was crushing. Thank you for giving me hope and the reminder that all difficult circumstances are temporary and that good and giving people exist that graciously help others they do not even know, and will probably never meet. Please be assured that I will absolutely be paying this forward and will be assisting others whenever possible. Thank you again, and bless you! Taylor

I Lost My Job After Getting Very Sick with COVID. After the Medical Bills, I Can't Afford My Rent!

My Story:

I'm a 26-year-old living on my own and trying to build a life for myself in Seattle. I enjoy living here, and the work that I do is very fulfilling. Through the school year, I work as a high school teacher and as an author, and during the summer break, I moonlight as a wedding planner. I would consider myself to be a very active and creative person. During the summer I enjoy being out on the water, and I also spend a lot of time in the kitchen cooking and baking new recipes.

In 2021, before I became a schoolteacher and wedding planner, I was working as a coffee shop manager when I caught COVID. Due to some underlying conditions that I struggle with, I ended up getting severely ill with the virus, and it took me three months to feel better at all, and overall, it took me eight months to shake all of the lasting effects of the virus. As a result, I had to leave my job, and I wasn't able to receive unemployment or stimulus payments because I didn't have a long enough work history being that I was freshly out of school. Overall, I was out of work for three months, without any income for that period, and I accrued large medical bills as a result of being severely ill with COVID. I have been able to handle most of my medical bills thanks to some exceedingly generous local charities, but I'm struggling to catch up with the rent that I owe from being out of work. I desperately need help to get my rent back up to current, otherwise, I'll be in serious danger of losing my home.

As I've worked to pay down my medical bills, I've been paying what I can in regard to my rent; however, I've fallen behind by about two months as a result of only being able to make partial payments. The late fees have also started to pile up, and I'm really treading water financially. I'm very humbly asking for this assistance with my rent so that I don't wind up completely underwater. I'm working hard to secure a future for myself, but without this assistance, I won't be able to keep my home, and then, I don't know where I will go or what I will do. However, with this support, I can keep my home and keep working hard for my students and clients so that I can get back to being self-sufficient again. I will never forget the generosity and kindness that I'm shown by all of the wonderful people who come together to save me from becoming homeless.
