This person has left the following thank you note:

Thanks to all who helped me and my family in our time of need. Because of the help we received from everyone at modest needs and those who donated, my family and I can start to begin to build our savings back up much sooner than if we didn't receive this help. We were denied for assistance everywhere else that we applied. We were even denied for unemployment benefits. Modest needs and everyone that donated to us really came through for my family when everyone else turned us away. I can't thank everyone enough and because of this I hope to be able to donate to others in their time of need once we become financially stable again. Thank you so very much again.

I'm Starting Work Next Month, but We Need Help Catching Up on Our Rent in the Meantime Please!

My Story:

I am a married father of two kids. My almost 5-year-old son is very active and takes Karate classes two to three times a week, he also loves to play with his sister and our dog. My 2-year-old daughter is strong-willed, caring, and loves to play with her brother and our dog as well. I am currently between jobs but will be starting my new job in early April at a warehouse. My wife is a team lead at a mortgage company and works full-time there.

Before I lost my job, my family had a small savings set aside to deal with any emergencies. However, with only my wife working, we quickly burned through that savings and have struggled to keep up with our monthly bills as a result. On top of losing my jobs, we haven't been able to secure unemployment benefits either. I was laid-off in February and have still not received any unemployment for the time that I was out of work. Even though I'm starting a new job, we're behind on our rent currently, and I won't collect a paycheck in time for us to get caught up. For that reason, I'm very humbly asking for assistance with our rent for this month.

My wife and I are very afraid that if we can't catch up with our rent soon, we'll be evicted from the only home that our children have ever known. I will be starting my new job early next month and I plan to work overtime as much as possible early on to help us keep on track with our bills, as well as rebuild what savings and even make it stronger eventually so that we can have a safety net should something like this happen again. I know how much this help would mean to my family, and I understand the ripple effect that a helping hand can have. So, I promise that once we're stable again and safe in our home, we will do our utmost to pay the kindness we've been shown forward to another family in need.
