I'm a Caregiver to the Elderly, but After Losing Work to COVID, I Need Help Keeping My Car Please!
I am a single woman who loves working with people. I have been a self-employed caregiver since 2001, starting with overseeing the care of my parents, both of whom had strokes and have since passed away. Since then, I have been doing private care for the elderly and others who need some help with day- to- day life, going to their homes and helping with things like: companionship, meal prep, laundry, light cleaning and assisting them in their favorite activity.
I originally lost a few weeks of work due to a client thinking their relative had Covid, which they did not. They put me on hold until they found out if it was safe for me to return. I did return for a short time, but then I contracted Covid the day after Christmas at a family gathering. I did test negative a couple of weeks later and previously had been vaccinated but the client decided they were too worried about getting Covid and chose to release me from my duties.
I was already struggling because of the first few weeks off, then losing my job altogether and not working for 2 months really set me back. I fell behind on my car payments as a result, and now I am just a few weeks away from losing my only means of transportation.
With heartfelt appreciation, I am asking for assistance with catching up on my past due car payments. Without my vehicle, I cannot get to and from work with my elderly clients. Not being able to get to work would collapse my already unstable financial situation. This assistance would allow me to keep my car and keep working with the people that need my services.
I am also in the process of writing a book that, by telling my stories of overcoming adversities in my life, I hope will inspire others in overcoming adversity in its many forms.
I thank you in advance and I will continue to serve my community in many meaningful ways and pay this forward when I am able.
