I'm Trying to Balance Work & Caring For My Kids, but a Lack of Childcare Has Made That Impossible!

My Story:

I am a single mother of two amazing daughters. My 4-year-old daughter is full of energy, and she loves to do art projects and come up with imaginary play ideas using her dress-up clothes. She's special needs and is on the autism spectrum, so she requires extra care and attention. My 1-year-old daughter loves to do anything that she sees her big sister doing. Most of all though, both girls love to just spend time with me doing fun activities. I work hard to take care of my daughters and to provide for them through my job but balancing the two has been nearly impossible during the pandemic, so we're having a hard time.

When the pandemic hit, it became difficult for me to keep working consistently due to my daughters' daycares constantly shutting down. This has been going on for almost two years now, and it's caused us to go from being relatively comfortable and paying our bills on time to barely being able to make it from paycheck to paycheck without falling behind. The most recent COVID outbreak at my daughter's school is threatening to put us completely under water financially because I've been out of work for a few weeks now already. At this point, we're already behind on our car payment and utility bills, and I'm really nervous about both.

I'm very humbly asking for assistance with our car payment and our utility bills because without help, I'm not going to be able to catch up and could lose both our car and heat and hot water during the winter. I've started a new seasonal job working at a warehouse, and it pays well enough to keep up with all of our bills, but the hours are also flexible so that I can care for my daughters when I need to. Still, we need this help if we're going to make it through this short-term crisis. We would be so grateful for this assistance, and I want to thank everyone who helps us in advance for your generosity and kindness.
