This person has left the following thank you note:

User-submitted image - Click to see real sizeMy boys and I humbly give you our thanks for your generous act of kindness. The beauty of strangers helping another human being in need breaks me to the core. As if our circumstance didnt become more challenging, I suddenly lost my Mom. So, to be informed that our needs would be met, well, it rendered me speechless. I sincerely thank you and just know that my little family will rest a bit easier knowing that our basic urgent needs are being met during this most challenging time. I purpose to be just as generous one day and to show the same kindness you have shown us. Very Respectfully, Jennifer, Korbin, Tristan and Ryker

I've Been Out of Work After Suffering a Stroke & Need Help Keeping Our Lights On Please!

My Story:

I'm a proud Army veteran and a hard working single mother with three wonderful boys at home. My oldest just graduated from college, and it took a lot of sacrifice for me to put him through school, but it will all be worth it in the end. I'm incredibly proud of him. My two younger children are both amazing as well. My second oldest is a sophomore in high school and an excellent student. His younger brother is a football-loving 8-year-old. We've been through a lot as a family, but we've stuck together and made it through each and every hardship that's been thrown our way.

Seven years ago, I made the decision to leave my ex-husband and take my three children with me. It was a difficult decision, but the relationship between us had grown toxic and dangerous for our children as well. A few years before that, I left the Army and began civilian life working as an HR representative for a supply and logistics company. I work hard for six days a week to feed my family, and I don't receive support from my children's father either. I put my job first over these years and did not make the time for medical appointments for myself, as I am a disabled vet. In October, I was rushed to the ER with triple digit blood pressure and admitted to the intensive care unit for stroke. I've been on medical leave since then, but before that I had never missed a day of work. My health has finally caught up to me, and now we're in a very difficult position financially, but I know that I have to focus on my treatment and recovery. I've been out of work for almost three months now, and it's looking like I'll be out for a while still. As a result, I'm having trouble keeping up with our bills, so I'm humbly asking for assistance with both our car payment and electric bill.

I'm doing my best to focus on recovering, but if we lose our only means of transportation and our power, it will be difficult for me to get to and from my doctor's appointments or even for us to stay in our home if we lose power. As I am going through my medical issues, this will give my children peace of mind knowing that they can live in the only home they have known since we left. It will give me time to recover and to get back to work, and for that we would be very grateful. Thank you all in advance for this assistance.
