I'm Caring For My Husband Who Has Cancer, but I Lost Work, & We Need Help Keeping Our Car Please!
I'm married and am the caretaker for my husband after he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma in 2019. On top of that, I was working full-time, but I fell ill in November and have been out of work since then. I'm receiving short-term disability benefits, but those haven't been enough to keep up with our bills, and we're struggling.
My disability benefits are the only income that we have because my husband is still waiting to receive his benefits and has been waiting since 2019. Now, we're on the verge of losing our vehicle, our car insurance, and our electricity. Losing any one of these things would have devastating consequences for my husband and I, so I'm very humbly asking for assistance with catching up on those three bills.
Without our car and the ability to drive it safely, my husband won't be able to get to and from his chemotherapy treatments, and I won't be able to continue to receive therapy either. I'm working on recovering and getting back to work, but if we lose our car and our power, then I don't know how I'll be able to get back to work. However, with this assistance, my husband and would be able to continue to go to doctor's appointments and stay in our home comfortably for the foreseeable future. This would be a tremendous blessing to us, and it would save us from falling into a vicious cycle of poverty, one that would be almost inescapable for us given the circumstances. Thank you all in advance for you kindness and generosity, and I promise that we will never forget the people who assist us.
