This person has left the following thank you note:
Before I reached out to Modest Needs, I applied for help through other crisis relief funds and was denied for various reasons. One of them for example, denied me because it was a personal illness and didnt fall under their family medical crisis criteria. I have been homeless and learned a long time ago that blood isnt always thicker than water as well as not to depend or trust anyone. I started to accept that I had run out of options, a life resource line sent me this link to Modest Needs. Surprisingly, I followed the well explained instructions for my application. I checked my status a few times and then as the due dates approached, and no change in status, my faith that any organization or donor would help became less and less. Just yesterday while I was praying, I thought to myself that if any financial help came about during any remaining time of my medical leave of absence, that absolutely, I know that the Holy Spirit supplied my needs! So with your financial assistance I am able to breathe a little slower, recover a little quicker, smile a lot bigger, and praise Jesus with all my heart and soul! Thank you Modest Needs for restoring my hope and faith in everyday people! God bless you, love JM Allen!
I'm Out of Work Recovering from Surgery, but I Need Help Keeping My Insurance Please!
My Story:
I am a single mother of two little girls. I live in Tulsa but work nights at Macys in Owasso, which is a pretty long drive for me. I love to write and have hopes of continuing my education while I climb the ladder at Macys as far as they will allow me to go within their company. One day I pray to become an example of a financially secure, independent, God fearing woman to my children, and I pray that may God bless me so that I may return the blessings I've received ten-fold.
I work full time nights and have health insurance through my employer but have just found out that I failed to sign up for short term disability. I've experienced some medical problems as of late, and I've had to miss work after recovering from a relatively major surgery. Without the short-term disability benefits, I'm not receiving any income while I'm out of work, and I'm worried about being able to keep up with my bills going forward. Right now, I'm struggling to pay for my utilities like internet and electric bills, but most importantly, I can't cover my insurance premiums, and I'm worried that I'm going to lose my coverage and that my healthcare costs will skyrocket. So, I'm humbly asking for assistance with my health insurance bill, my electric bill, and my internet bill please.
This assistance would allow me to focus on recovering and getting back to work, but it would also ensure that my healthcare remains affordable. If my health insurance lapses, the cost of my treatments will go through the roof, and it will permanently ruin my financial situation. I would feel so blessed to receive this assistance, and I promise to pay this blessing forward as soon as I can get back to work. Thank you all in advance for your kindness and compassion.
