I Had to Switch Jobs Due to a Medical Condition & Need Help Keeping My Water On Please!
My Story:
I'm 34 years old, and I'm a single mother. I have two smart, loving, and beautiful children, a boy who is 13 years old and a girl who is 15 years old. I attended college and graduated with honors with a degree in finance, and I even became a Branch Manager of a bank in Birmingham. I worked there for over 5 years, but I got really sick last year, and they ultimately let me go. I was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor, and that puts a lot of stress on my eyes and head, so staring at a computer all day was not a good fit for me.
I noticed a local restaurant was hiring for servers and I considered that being a server would help me to be able to move freely and not be tied down to a desk/phone and computer all day. I also considered that being a server would still allow me to do what I love most, which is helping people, multi-tasking, and making a positive impact in our community. I was hired, and I absolutely love my job, but there is one major problem with it. I unfortunately had to take a pretty decent pay cut. Despite that, I'm able to keep up with our monthly bills, but some months at work have been slower than others, and that can cause us to work on a really tight budget. That tight budget doesn't leave room for unexpected expenses, so when my car broke down, I had to rob Peter to pay Paul, so to speak, and had to forgo paying my water bill to get it repaired. Now, after another slow month at work, I'm struggling to get it caught up again, so I'm humbly asking for assistance with our water bill.
I'm worried that we're going to have it shut off in a matter of days. If that happens our pipes could freeze, and it could cause lasting damage to our home. Not to mention, it would be difficult for us to remain in our home without water. Getting caught up on this bill would put us completely back on track, and for that I would be very thankful. I promise to never forget the kindness we're shown.
