This person has left the following thank you note:

User-submitted image - Click to see real sizeI am so grateful to all of you who took money out of their own pocket to help me in my time of need. This will help me get back on track. I have stayed up nights and did a lot of crying because I couldn't see any light at the end of the tunnel. Not having to worry about whether or not my power will be turned off has lifted a huge weight off of my shoulders. Your generosity shows me that there are actually people out there who care. This has renewed my faith in human kindness. This is truly a blessing. Thank you and bless you all. I will pay your generosity forward some day soon.

My Employer Cut My Pay Due to Cutbacks from the Pandemic & I Need Help Keeping My Power On!

My Story:

I recently became an empty-nester, but I have five children who I raised on my own, and between them all, they have given me six wonderful grandbabies. My youngest just recently graduated and moved out of the house, so I'm on my own with my two dogs who I love very much. They're both Boston Terriers, and they love to take long walks and wrestle with one another. When I'm not working at my full-time warehouse job, I'm spending time with them, my grandchildren, and my children.

Currently I'm working as an administrative assistant at a warehouse, but before that I was working as a supervisor in a grocery distributing warehouse. We worked long, arduous hours trying to keep our local grocery stores stocked through the pandemic, often working 12 hours days for six days a week. In August of 2021, we were told that since the demand for the company's services had gone down since the beginning of the pandemic, some of the supervisors were going to be laid-off. At the time, we were encouraged to apply for other positions in the company, and so I did. I was accepted to my current role, and I'm enjoying my new position a lot; however, the new position pays about $15,000 per year less than the previous position I held. So as a result, I'm having trouble adjusting to my new salary, and I'm looking to downscale my expenses but have fallen behind on my electric bill and need help catching up in the meantime please.

Getting this assistance with my electric bill would do two huge things for me. First, I'll be able to keep my lights and power on through the winter. Second, I'll be caught up enough to make it through this month so that I can find some stability as I adjust to my new financial situation. For both of those reason, I would be deeply grateful for this support, and I promise to work hard to pay it forward in the near future.
