This person has left the following thank you note:
Wanted to say thank you for your consideration and the very generous donation to help me get ahead. I am happy to tell you that this week I was hired to work at Centerstone Addictions hospital. My main responsibility will be working with homeless and people who struggle with addictions. This has been a dream of mine to work in this setting since I began my recovery from alcoholism 5 years ago. Your donation will help me focus less on financial stress and more on this chapter in my life. I can now begin training at this job without any money distractions and dive in head first. Thank you for reminding me that recovery does pay off and that I am not alone in this rough world. I will be carrying you all with me as I go out into Downtown Bradenton to assist the homeless with counseling and medical help and help them get on the path that I am on now. Their story does not have to end with them living on the streets.
I'm in Danger of Losing My Home after a Car Accident & I Need Help Please!
My Story:
I'm a veteran who recently moved to Florida to start a career fighting for mental health and against substance abuse. After struggling with alcoholism and achieving 4 years 10 months sobriety, I am finally getting my life on a good path and achieving my goals. The moment that really brought it all back together for me was when my father hugged me and told me he was proud of me, from there I haven't looked back. I was very excited to finally have a decent savings account and an increase in my credit score; it was an indicator that my life was headed in a good direction. I currently work at Amazon as a warehouse associate and plan on seeking a job at a mental health facility or rehab center. The next two years I want to pursue my master's degree in mental health and maybe 10 years later go for my PhD. I have a huge passion for mental health, understanding trauma, and helping others with substance abuse issues.
However, on October 10, 2020, I was in a car accident and had to get two tires replaced and the brake system fixed. The cost was high and decimated my savings account and was a huge blow to my confidence and grit in general. I had to get my car fixed because I can't work without it. As a result, I've fallen behind on my rent and need help catching up before I'm evicted.
Having financial security and no fear of being homeless helps my anxiety and depression disorders due to the PTSD I incurred from years of trauma and military service. I'm working and can manage my bills, but I won't have enough to catch up without assistance. With that being said I would be very grateful to everyone who helps me keep my home. Thank you all in advance.
