My Car Broke Down, & If I Can't Get it Repaired, I'll Lose My Job! Please Help.

My Story:

I've been a single mom for two years now, and I'm raising my wonderful 3-year-old son on my own. He's my entire world, and I work two jobs to make sure that he has everything that he needs. I work full-time, and on the weekends when my son is with his father, I drive for Lyft. When I'm not working, my son and I like to spend time with our dog, Milo, who is definitely handful!

I live paycheck to paycheck, and I'm responsible for the majority of the expenses related to my son, and I don't have any help from his father in that regard. My son's going to a private daycare right now, and so the cost of childcare has gone up sharply. My budget has shrunk and made us very vulnerable to unexpected accidents and expenses. So when my car stopped working, I began to fear the worst. Sure enough, the mechanic told me that I needed to have work done to fix my transmission. I have to get my vehicle towed to the location to have it worked on, but I can't afford the costs of the repairs because our budget is so tight already. I would have to choose between paying our rent or for these repairs, and either decision will have irreparable consequences for us. If I lose our home, I'll lose custody of my son, but if I can't keep my car on the road, I'll lose my job and will eventually lose our home as a result anyways. We're really stuck right now, so I'm humbly seeking out assistance with these repairs so that I can keep my jobs and keep taking care of my son.

This help would allow me to get my car back on the road, and from there, I'll be able to stay on track with my other bills as well. I'm hoping to pick up more hours driving for Lyft, and that would give me the chance to put some income away in case something like this ever happens again. In the meantime, I would be very grateful for this help with these car repairs, and I would like to say 'thank you' to everyone who lends us a hand.
