User-submitted image - Click to see real sizeFeeling thankful...As this Thanksgiving season may be the last spent with my family it is wonderful to think of the unselfishness that others have shown my family in our hour of need and for this we are all eternally grateful. As we celebrate this Thanksgiving at our table, we will give thanks for the provision God has granted us in helping with our medical bills. A true gift from complete strangers. Thank you so much to each one of you for your quick response in meeting our needs which will take a huge amount of stress from my family in paying the medical bills which have simply been piling up as a result of my liver cancer. It is very comforting for me to know that my medical bills are not a burden for my loved ones when I am gone. We will be forever grateful and my wish is that my family recover from my loss and each one of them offer someone else in need a chance to 'see the light'. Thank you for allowing my family to see all of the goodness the world has to offer in a time when we usually see such despair. It is heartwarming and my children can see the world in a different light as a result. Continue to shine on!!!

I'm Battling Cancer & Need Help Affording the Medical Bills from My Treatment Please!

My Story:

I am a married father of two beautiful young ladies and play an active role as stepdad to my wife's son, David. My daughter, Katie, still lives at home and is enrolled in a SUNY college in New York. My other daughter has grown up and moved out of the home, but we still see her regularly. We have also been blessed with three wonderful grandchildren who we love to spend time with. We live on a family farm in Sprakers, NY. My wife works with mentally and physically handicapped folks in a residential setting, and I'm currently retired due to some medical issues I've been facing.

I was recently diagnosed with primary liver cancer and am currently entering stage 4 of this terrible disease. My medical bills have been very expensive between all of the medications, immunotherapy treatments, and medical testing. Not to mention, the increased cost of transportation as a result of medical appointments and treatments. As a result of the cancer, I have been forced to retire and our family's income has been severely affected, so these added bills are making it extremely difficult to meet even the most basic of needs. The financial bind is just adding to the stress of my family facing our battle with liver cancer. I have been unable to pay the medical bills resulting from my treatments which have been piling up because we are having to choose between eating and paying for my vehicle that I need to be able to get to and from my appointments.

I'm humbly seeking assistance with these medical bills because they've already entered collections and are threatening my access to healthcare at a time when going without could have extremely dire consequences. If we do divert some of our income to pay for these medical bills, then it could result in me losing my car as well, and that would have the same result as me losing access to my healthcare provider. My wife is stressed a great deal over the fact that I am terminal, and the financial stress is only adding to the horror of cancer. I want to ensure my family is relieved of as much stress as possible, so I would be incredibly grateful to everyone who helps to ease this burden on me and my family. My family and I will never forget the kindness and generosity that we are shown during this hardship. Thank you.
