My Husband Lost His Job to COVID & We Need Urgent Help To Save Our Home!
My Story:
I am a married mother raising four amazing children. Our oldest, my 9-year old Khloe, is a natural born creative who loves art and fashion. Brandon Jr (aka Prince) is the heart and soul of our family who loves music, dancing, and cars. He is 4 years old and Autistic, and he currently takes speech, OT, and ABA therapies. My 3-year old, Queen, is a book worm who loves to get lost in a good book and also enjoys art and coloring. My 2 year-old is working through developmental delays, and she currently takes OT, Speech, and DI therapies. My husband, Brandon, is a CDL driver, but he was recently let go from his job when they closed down their location due to COVID. We have been waiting for months now for his unemployment to be approved. I am a full-time Amazon warehouse manager. I started as a warehouse associate two years ago and worked my way up to manager.
My paycheck through Amazon is monthly, so when it comes, it is usually depleted by the first week of the month after paying bills. Since my husband lost his job, we struggle and sometimes even have to borrow our way through the month to afford basic needs like food, gas to get to work, and school supplies for the kids. We have been living paycheck to paycheck for some time now, but this month we are at a point where we are so behind, we could become homeless. It was a great help when my husband got his CDL job in May but by August, the location shut down and all new employees were let go. In addition, school started and due to both of us working or trying to seek work, childcare expenses became a necessary but painful burden.
Right now, we're facing an imminent eviction and have nowhere else to go if we lose our home. On top of that, a disruption as big as losing our home would wreak havoc on my autistic son's life, and he would not know how to deal with it and would really struggle to cope with a new environment, especially one as unstable as a homeless shelter. So, I'm humbly seeking help with our rent for this month. With this assistance, we'll have the opportunity to catch up as my husband continue to look for work and as we adjust to meet the new childcare expenses we have. I know that with this help, we'll be able to keep our home and stay afloat, and for that, I want to thank all of the kind, compassionate people who lend us a hand with our rent.
