This person has left the following thank you note:

First off, thanks to Bell Lumber & Pole for the help getting through the application process. It means the world to my family and I to know that there's organizations out there to help people in my situation. I wouldn't have known where to turn to if I didn't find out about Modest Needs and the support you provide. Getting these bills knocked out help me focus on my kids and not on financial pressures. We are so grateful to be able to look forward once again!

I Was Out Of Work Due to Injuries, a Divorce & COVID! Please Help Me Keep My Children's Home.

My Story:

I'm a single father raising three great kids on my own, ages 13, 6, and 5 years old. My oldest daughter is and avid basketball player and is very talented. My 6-year-old son is incredibly energetic and is taking a 'ninja' class that he loves, and honestly, it's fun for me to watch as well. My 5-year-old daughter loves gymnastics and tumbling and is really good at it for her age. I work at a lumber company in order to provide for my family.

Our financial hardship is the result of a bit of a long story, but I'll share the key points. It began with an injury on I sustained on the job in 2018 that took me out of work. Four months later, my wife at the time served me with divorce papers, which was not my decision. All in all, I was out of work for about two years total. By the time I was able to work again, it was the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, and I wasn't able to physically do the job I had done in the past, so I took lower-paying work. Then I had car problems, which I needed to fix in order to keep the job I was able to do. That led to juggling bills, and ultimately to the position that we're in now where I'm behind on our rent and utility payments.

If I don't get my rent and utilities current, then I'm at risk of losing our home and also custody of my children. I can't think of anything more devastating than not being able to take care of and have custody of my children. They're my entire world, and the idea of not being with them is unbearable. I know that going forward I'll be able to keep up with our bills and take care of them because I'm back to working again and at a higher paying job; however, I need urgent help if we're going to keep our home in the meantime. I would be incredibly grateful and relieved to receive this generous assistance, and I promise that I'll pay it forward as soon as I can to another family in need. Thank you in advance for the kindness and generosity we're shown.
