I Have a Child on the Way, but I'm Out of Work & Am Going to Lose My Car! Please Help.
I'm 22 years old, and I'm currently unemployed due to Covid-19. I was working for a home care company, but when the pandemic began, I was laid-off after the restrictions came down. We weren't allowed into our patients' home, so there just wasn't any work for us to do. I searched and searched for work but to no avail. Now, I'm 10 weeks pregnant, my unemployment benefits have expired, and I'm really struggling to hold onto everything as I wait to bring my child into the world.
The pandemic has taken a tremendous toll on me. I've lost possessions and even family members to the pandemic, and I'm struggling to make a way for myself and for my incoming child after losing my job. When I was receiving unemployment benefits, I was able to get by, and now that those have expired and now that I'm pregnant, I don't have any way to cover a lot of my bills. My biggest concern right now is keeping up with my car payments so that I can get to and from my prenatal appointments and so that I can continue to search for some kind of work that I might be able to do while I'm pregnant.
I'm humbly asking for assistance with my car payments because I'm terrified of the domino effect that losing my car would have on my situation and potentially on the health of my incoming baby. With a child on the way, it's extremely important for me to try to achieve as much stability as possible so that I can give my child the life that every mother wants for theirs. I would be forever grateful to the people who help me, and I promise to make sure that my child knows this story as they grow up so that some day they might be as kind and as charitable as the people who help us.
