We've Had to Isolate Due to COVID & Need Help Keeping Our Home Please!
My Story:
I am a single mother of two amazing boys, ages 6 and 2 years old. I've been working in the automotive accounting business for close to four years, and I love my job and the opportunity it gives me to provide for my family. My 6-year-old just started first grade at a traditional elementary school and plays many sports. He is currently playing flag football, and he's played soccer and baseball, but basketball is by far his favorite. He already has it set in his mind that he's going to meet Lebron James some day! My 2-year-old is enrolled in daycare but will be attending an Early Head Start program in a few weeks. He's full of energy, is very loving and looks up to his brother a great deal even though they fight like cats and dogs. I was in a relationship with my children's father for 10 years, but we split two months ago so it's just me and the boys making our way.
Being newly singly has been tremendously hard, especially with two small children. It seems like everything that could hold us back financially has held us back. First, my 6-year-old had to quarantine for 10 days causing me to miss work. Then, I went back to work only to be told my 2-year-old needed to be quarantined as well. I missed weeks of work and started panicking because we already live paycheck to paycheck being we are a single income household now. Right after that my engine went out on a car I was financing with only a $400 payoff left, so last week I had to take everything out of my savings for a down payment to finance another vehicle. As you can imagine, we're in a very difficult spot financially and need urgent help if we're going to make our rent for this coming month.
I'm worried that if we fall behind, the late fees will begin to overwhelm us and will leave us completely unable to catch up to the point where we could lose our home. On the other hand, getting this help will finally allow me to get back on track. I'll be able to rebuild my savings so that even if we do have to quarantine again, we'll have something to fall back on. My family would be so grateful for this help, and I promise to do my best to pay your generosity and kindness forward.
