I'm in Pain & About to Lose My Teeth. Please Help Me Afford the Root Canal I Need to Keep My Smile.

My Story:

I'm a father and husband, and I'm living with a diagnosis of bipolar disorder I. My wife and I have three amazing children ages, 18, 16, and 14 years old. Our oldest is heading off to college this month, and our two younger children are in high school. My wife was working as a waitress for a long time but after losing her job to the pandemic, she switched jobs and became a public school teacher. Currently, I work as a 1099 contractor, but after going through a mental health episode in 2018, I have had a hard time earning a living wage.

The problem that we're facing right now is due to a lack of medical insurance coverage. Working as a contractor means that I don't receive health insurance through my employer and private plans are far to expensive for me to purchase. My wife was offered insurance through her employer, but again, we don't make enough to cover my entire family, so my children and I are insured through Medicaid. I recently had an emergency root canal performed due to acute pain, major infection, and a cracked tooth. During the process, they also found another tooth that was infected, so I'm now looking at getting another root canal. My family is now facing two huge medical bills because our insurance doesn't cover either procedure, and we desperately need help before these bills ruin us. Specifically, I'm asking for assistance with getting the second root canal procedure done.

With our oldest son heading off to college, our budget is tight as is, but now with these two huge bills looming over us, we're facing collapse. In fact, I've had to postpone the second root canal because we just can't afford it right now. I'm worried that if I continue to postpone it, then the infection will only get worse and cause further problems with my dental health. This assistance would allow me to move forward with the procedure that I need, and it'll take huge load off my family financially speaking and at a time where we really need it. I can't stress how much getting this help would mean to my family, and I promise to never forget the kindness and generosity we're shown.
