I'm a Healthcare Worker Struggling to Keep My Home After Losing Hours! Please Help!

My Story:

I'm an essential healthcare worker, and I work at an orthopedic surgery center. I'm technically full-time, but with Covid-19 cases rising and overwhelming hospitals again, they have been cutting back on surgeries. They've been sending us home early, and we're being cut without the remaining hours going towards our pay.

Before this started again, I was already in a bad position financially. Earlier last year, our center was closed down completely, and I had to use all of my PTO hours just to survive. We reopened after a few months, but then I contracted Covid-19 in November and was out for a period of time. At this point I've exhausted all of my Sick-Leave and PTO, so every time that I'm cut at work, I don't have any way of making up those hours. With cases surging again, I don't know when my hours will come back, so I've already started looking for another job. I have a lot of experience in healthcare, so I'm confident that I can find something that will work soon, but in the meantime, I'm about to fall behind on my rent and need help.

I'm scared that before I can find another job or before my hours are restored, I'll lose my home. If that happens, I could easily lose my job as well. Right now, I just don't have enough hours to catch up on my rent on my own, so I would be very grateful for this assistance because it will keep me going until I can find another job or until I get more hours again. Thank you all for helping me keep my home, and I promise to never forget the kindness that I'm shown.
