I'm Heading Back to Work, but I'll Be Homeless Before I Collect My First Paycheck! Please Help.
My Story:
I'm a single woman living on my own and making my way in the world. I love doing hair, and I've been working as a cosmetologist for 7 years now. When I'm not doing hair, I love to do outdoor activities like finding trails to hike. I grew up in Florida, but after living in Georgia for a long time now, I can definitely say that my heart is here.
When the pandemic began, I was laid-off because the restrictions meant that no one was coming in for hair appointments. I struggled to get by when I lost my job, and I was just barely making it on unemployment. I've completely drained my savings, but thankfully, I'm heading back to work again soon. However, I'm already behind on my rent, and I won't have enough to cover it in September, so I'm worried that I could end up losing my home if I can't cover it in time. I know that I can manage all of my other bills, but my rent is my biggest concern because losing my home will mean that I'll have nowhere to go but the streets or a shelter.
With this assistance, I'll be able to get back on track again so that I can get back to being self-sufficient. I'm just on the verge of making it through this long period of unemployment, but I'm also on the brink of homelessness. I've fought hard to survive this past year, and I would be so grateful to all the people who help me make it to the end of this difficult period. Thank you all in advance for your kindness and generosity.
