The Sudden Loss Of My Grandmother & COVID Have Us on the Brink of Homelessness! Please Help.
I've lived in Georgia with my family since 2006, and I have two wonderful boys. My oldest is 9 years old and my youngest is 3 years old. They're both very energetic, and we love to spend time together hiking at Kennesaw Mountain and playing basketball. My two sons, and my family as a whole are my biggest priority in the world, and everything that I do is for them. I work as a dental assistant and have done that for over a decade now. I love dentistry and my job, but there's nothing that brings me more joy than being a mother.
A few months ago, tragedy struck my family, and we lost our grandmother to Covid-19. It came suddenly because she was a healthy woman for the most part, and we are truly shocked and saddened by her loss. Her final wish was to be buried in her hometown in Haiti, so we had the funeral there and had to pay for plane tickets. She did not have life insurance, so the funeral was also costly. Still, we felt we had to honor her memory properly, and I would not have been able to live with myself had I gone against her final wishes. In addition to losing our grandmother, the pandemic has also caused me to lose hours at my job and has put us in a difficult situation financially. We're behind on both our utilities and our rent, and we are desperate to avoid losing our home, having our lights shut-off, or both.
I'm hoping that business will be picking up at our practice again, but even if it doesn't, I'm still confident that if we can make it through this current crisis, then I'll be able to take care of our expenses going forward. This assistance would do so much for my family, and it would effectively save our home. For that, we would be extremely grateful, and I promise my family will never forget the generosity and compassion we're shown.
