We're on the Verge of Losing Our Car Due to COVID! Please Help!
My Story:
I'm a single mom with a 16-year-old son at home. He's getting ready to head back to school this Fall and is excited to finally go back after the pandemic. I work full-time currently, but I'm looking for a part-time job on evenings and weekends in order supplement the work I've lost due to COVID.
I work full-time for a health insurance company, and I've always made enough money to provide for my son comfortably. However, the pandemic has led my company to cut back on the number of hours we can work, and my paycheck has been cut in half as a result. We've gone from getting by comfortably to barely making it by at all in the span of just a few months. No matter what I do, I can't seem to get caught up on all of our bills, and we can't find help anywhere. We don't qualify for food stamps, and the best that I can do right now for groceries is to go to our local food bank every once and a while. I've managed to keep a roof over our heads, but beyond that, I'm struggling to hold onto everything else. Right now, I'm worried about making our car payment because it's a few months past due and could be repossessed any week now.
Losing my car would be a catastrophe. I'm positive it would have a domino effect on all of our other bills as well because losing my car would mean losing my job, and losing my job would mean losing our home, and so on and so forth. With that being said, this help would get us clear of that type of catastrophe, and it would put us back on track while I search for part-time work or until my hours return to normal. It will also give me hope to keep going, and for that, I want to thank everyone who provides us with this generous support.
