This person has left the following thank you note:
I would like to give a heartfelt Thank You, to each and everyone of you that so unselfishly donated on our behalf. I also would like to thank our lord and savior Jesus, he has never left us. He gave me the strength to keep going! You have no idea how much your sacrifice has done for my little family. With your generosity we will be able to stay in our home and have a safe place to rest our heads at night. I have restored hope in my heart and I will continue to pray for you and your families, that you be blessed and held in elected favor For being such a wonderful Samaritan to others less fortunate and struggling. I am extremely grateful for your love and financial support. Please know that I continue to work in Nursing with the focus On keeping others loved ones safe and healthy as we continue to heal from this disastrous past year. We are taking steps to prevent the spread on the Delta Variant in our Nursing Center. We currently have no positive cases! Praise God. I love you all for donating on our behalf And continue to pray that you and your loved ones stay safe, healthy and protected! God Bless each and everyone of you. With Deepest Gratitude, Elissa and Son
I've Worked as a Nurse Battling COVID, but I Need Help Keeping Our Home Please!
My Story:
I'm a single mother who has worked as a nursing assistant in long-term care for more than 15 years. I love working with seniors and enjoy my work a lot. I serve them through Christ, and I believe that God has been good to me and my son despite the tragic losses we have suffered this past year. We have found comfort in helping others, but we've also found ourselves on the verge of losing our home as the result of our hardship and are now find ourselves in need of help.
I've continued to serve as a nurse through the pandemic and have picked up the late shift so that my son can use our car to get to and from school to finish his degree. Even though I'm working, we've faced a number of tragedies this year that have put us into bad financial straits. First, I lost my mother in November of 2019, and then, just 8 months later, I lost my father after he passed from complications due to Covid-19. I miss them both dearly, and it's been difficult to cope with losing them in every sense imaginable. On top of those losses, I struggled against cancer on and off for over a year, and even after having a bilateral mastectomy, I still have to follow up with my oncologist every six months, which is also cutting into our income. We're struggling to keep up with our rent as a result of all of this hardship, and we need urgent help if we're going to keep our home.
The only family that we have left to lean on live some distance away and are themselves struggling with the pandemic, so we are on our own right now. I have also yet to receive my tax return like so many others, but once it does come in, it should lighten the load for us substantially. However, I'm worried that before that happens, we'll be evicted and forced into a shelter or on to the street. We would be so grateful for this help, and I want to say 'thank you' to everyone who gives us a hand-up when we need it most.
