This person has left the following thank you note:

User-submitted image - Click to see real sizeThere are no words that can express the gratitude I have for your donations to this cause. Because of you, I am able to have some ease in my financial situation. The life of a single parent tends to be an uphill battle alone, but to go through this pandemic working to take care of others and deal with the newly added financial stress in order to work has been overwhelming. I am so very thankful and I will repay this kindness one day and pay it forward. In the meantime I will receive this graceful act and do my best to continue to work hard towards a better life for myself and children. Thank you so very much.

I'm Trying to Rebuild After Losing My Daughter & After COVID, but We Need Help with Our Utilities.

My Story:

I'm a single mother with two sons, and I work as a full-time nurse to provide for my family. Our little family recently experienced a great tragedy when we lost my 16-year-old daughter to suicide. We've been trying our best to rebuild after that, but it's taken an unimaginable toll on our family. The pandemic made things even harder, but I'm so thankful that my family has stuck together through this, and I'm especially thankful for my two sons. My oldest is 17 years old and loves to skateboard, and my younger son is 10 years old and is very into martial arts. They're closer than ever, and they do such a good job of supporting each other whenever they can.

I'm a full-time nurse, and I work in the emergency wing of our hospital. The pandemic has been especially chaotic, and I've been working more and more hours and longer shifts as a result. I'm extremely proud of what I do, and I'm very thankful to still be employed through this, but it's also added a tremendous amount to our expenses in the form of childcare. The pandemic closed schools down very suddenly, and I desperately needed to get my children into a childcare program of some kind; however, the only program available was extremely expensive month to month. I managed to squeeze everything I could out of our small monthly budget, but often times that meant not being able to pay an electric bill or a water bill. Now, we're behind on those two bills with no way of catching up before having our utilities shut-off.

I've worked so hard through the pandemic, and I've worked even harder to try to rebuild life for my family after the loss of my daughter. Every time I feel like I'm able to take a step forward for my children, I feel like right after, we're knocked back down again. This time I'm just not sure if we'll be able to get up on our own, and we desperately need a helping hand right now. To anyone willing to lend us a hand, thank you for your compassion and support.
