I Had to Quit My Job to Care for My Mother. After Our Car Broke Down We Need Help with Rent Please!
My Story:
I'm a single woman, and I currently live with my mother who I take care of full-time. She's currently in hospice care because she has lung problems, a heart ailment, hypertension, and diabetes. I work as her in-home care provider, but before the pandemic, I was also working as a CNA at our local hospital. Due to my mother's health, I had to stop working at the hospital for fear of spreading the Covid-19 virus to her. I also struggle with bipolar disorder, but I have managed to remain stable and have stayed on track with my medication so that I can continue to care for my mother.
Without my job at the hospital, we've been in a tough place financially and have been just barely scraping by. With my income and my mother's Social Security, we have just enough to handle all of our monthly bills and not much else. So, when my preowned vehicle needed to have its engine repaired, it put us between a rock and a hard place. On the one hand, we need our vehicle to be able to get my mother to and from doctors' appointments, and really just for everyday life. We live in the city, but Los Angeles is impossible to navigate without a car, and that's especially true for the elderly. However, on the other hand, if we get these repairs done, we won't be able to afford our rent or other bills and could lose our home as a result. We're faced with an impossible decision, so I'm asking for help with our rent, our insurance, and our internet bill in order to avoid having to choose between keeping our home and keeping my mother healthy.
With my mother being severely ill, we can't afford to go without our car or our home, but without help, we'll have to choose between one or the other. Like I said, having to make that decision is impossible, and that's why this one-time assistance would be so meaningful for us; we'll be able to hold onto to our home and our car, which will allow my mother and I to live comfortably. We would be forever grateful for this assistance, and we also just want to say thank you and God bless you to everyone who offers us this generous support with our rent and other bills.
