Words cannot express how relieved and thankful I am that the Modest Needs donors have successfully honored our needs during this difficult time in me and my families life. I never imagined being in such a situation like this, where I was in jeopardy of losing our home and almost being forced to live on the streets unable to provide for my family. I'm Battling a Medical Emergency & Also Lost Child Support. Please Help Me Keep Our Home!
My Story:
I'm a single mother of four children, all of them are between the ages of 13 and 4 years old. I have three boys, and my youngest is my only daughter. I hate to admit it, but their little hearts know that something is not the same with me and know that things have been different since I fell ill. I've been struggling with a medical issue that will require me to have surgery in order to get back to work. My children all try to be strong for me, and they do their chores and work hard in school to make me happy. They're doing the best they can given the circumstances, and I love them all so much. It's hard for me when I can't work because it makes it hard to provide for them.
I recently fell ill and need a major surgery in order to recover my clean bill of health and return to work to provide for my family. In the midst of this health crisis, the father of my children recently lost his job and can no longer pay child support. I'm dedicated to providing for my children, but without anything coming in at the moment, we're facing the threat of homelessness. I'm not asking for a handout, but rather a hand-up to help us with our rent.
Right now, our situation in terms of our rent is not good. We're really on the brink of eviction, and because our rent isn't in arrears due to COVID, the eviction moratorium in California does not cover our situation. We're behind by two months, and I'm terrified that we'll have an eviction notice posted to our door any day now. I'm hoping to return to work shortly after my surgery, but until I can get back to work, we need help keeping our home. It terrifies me to think of where my children and I will be if we're evicted, so I would feel extremely relieved and grateful if we receive this help. Thank you in advance for you compassion and generosity.
