I'm a Single Mother with a 4-Year-Old Facing Eviction, & I Need Urgent Help Please!

My Story:

I'm a 26-year-old mother of one son, and I recently relocated with my son from New York to Philadelphia. My son is my entire world, and I made the decision to move in order to try to find more stable and gainful work so that I could give him the life he deserves. I managed to find work as a pharmacy technician for about three months before I had to quit my job in order to better care for my son's needs. His school changed its hours due to COVID, and I could no longer work my shift at the pharmacy and pick my son up from school. He's too young to ride the bus, and we live too far away for him to walk.

Now, I'm on the hunt for a new job that will give me hours that will allow me to care for my son. Moving to a new city and starting over from scratch has been the most difficult thing we've ever had to do, and the pandemic has only made this process more chaotic. I moved us here to find work and a better life, but now because of the pandemic we're in a bad situation and in a place where we don't know anyone we could rely on for help. I don't know how we're going to pay the rent for this month, so I'm humbly asking for help with that while I continue to search for work.

We're on the verge of homelessness right now because if we fall behind on rent when the eviction moratorium expires, then we'll be forced out of our home for sure. Even with the eviction moratorium, I'm sure our landlord will be able to find one way or another to force us out of our apartment. This assistance would make sure that never happens. I have a lot of work experience, and I'm confident I can find another job that will work for my family; this help would give me the time I need to make sure that happens. This would be a tremendous blessing to us, and it's not one I would take lightly either. With that being said, I promise to repay the generosity and kindness we are shown.
