I'm an Essential Worker Trying to Make it on Reduced Hours, and I Need Help with Our Rent Please!
My Story:
I'm a single parent with a fun-loving 8-year-old son at home. He's very energetic and loves playing sports more than anything. We both love to spend time with each other and with the rest of our family, and that's when we're both our happiest selves. We're glad we're able to get back to doing more of that now that the pandemic is coming to a close.
I work hard to provide for my son's needs, and I've been fortunate enough to keep my job through the pandemic because I'm an essential worker in the medical field. Normally, I live paycheck to paycheck in order to cover all of our bills on time and in full, and we are usually on a strict budget even during normal times. However, the clinic that I work at has recently started to cut our hours back, and now I'm really struggling to make ends meet. Like I said, even under normal circumstances, we struggle to stay on strict budget, so with my hours and income being reduced, we don't stand a chance. I know that we'll need help if we're going to be able to keep up with our rent and other bills this month, so I'm humbly asking for assistance with paying this month of our rent.
The day I was informed my hours would be reduced, I began to look for other work, but I haven't been able to find any work that would sustain us like my current job does when I work full-time hours. It's a difficult situation to be in because I like my job and can take care of us with normal hours, but I don't know when or if those hours will come back. Thankfully, I do have several interviews lined up for some positions that might work for us, but until I can either find a new job or until my hours are restored, we desperately need help to avoid being evicted. I have faith and am thankful that there are people out there who are willing to help others during these chaotic times, and I know that when we have the opportunity to do so, we will return the favor in full. Thank you all in advance for helping us keep our home and for the compassion you've shown us just by taking the time to read our story.
