I'm an Essential Worker, but I've Lost Hours without Childcare & Need Help Keeping Our Home!
My Story:
I'm a single mother with one amazing 8-year-old son at home. He's very social, and he loves to play video games with his friends and also enjoys hanging out with his little cousins too. When we get the chance, we love to spend time together traveling back home to spend time with my grandparents. I work long, hard hours at the radiology wing of our local hospital as a Radiology Assistant. I love my job and working with patients, and it brings me a lot of joy to be the person that patients first see when they arrive at our department.
I've always done everything I can to make sure that my son and I are taken care of. I've mowed lawns on weekends, delivered groceries, and picked up three different part-time jobs when I've had to, all just to make ends meet. Our lives were uprooted recently when my 11-year-long relationship ended. Suddenly, my son and I were on our own, and I had to pick up all of the expenses for us on my own. We had to buy a used car, find a new apartment, and we even had to switch insurances. We had to start completely over, and we had to do it on just one salary.
On top of that, I've been losing a lot of hours at work because I can't afford childcare costs for my son, and I have to be home with him during the day on some days. I know that the situation we're in right now is temporary, but we're behind on our rent and could easily lose our home without help. If that were to happen, then we could be stuck in a permanent cycle of poverty and homelessness.
I'm asking for assistance with our rent so that this temporary hardship doesn't become a permanent one. I know that we'll be able to get back on track, but we're just stretched too thin right now and have no way of getting caught up. With that being said, we would be so humbled and thankful for this compassionate and generous assistance with our rent. With your help, we'll be able to keep our home and make it through this hardship without losing everything we've worked hard for. Thank you all in advance for your compassion and kindness.
