I'm a Veteran, and After My Car Broke Down Three Different Times, I Need Help Keeping My Home!

My Story:

I'm a disabled veteran, and I work part-time to give back to my community. I work at a food bank in north Florida, and I work in the field and travel around the area a lot. I live on my own, and my job has always paid enough for me to live a fairly comfortable life, even if I do live pretty much paycheck to paycheck. I really enjoy my job a lot but traveling around to 8 different counties on an almost weekly basis puts a lot of strain on my vehicle. As a result, my car has needed several repairs as of late, and those have really set me back by a lot.

First, my coolant light came on, and I took it to the dealership to have repairs done. While most of the work they had done was covered under warranty, I still had to pay around $700 for the repairs. Then, the timing belt broke, so I just decided to trade my car in. However, I couldn't find a buyer for it because I had to defer some of my car payments due to COVID and am upside down on the loan. Finally, I secured some money to pay for the repairs that needed to be done, and then another problem came up with the engine. Now, I've exhausted all of my finances and still don't have a car to show for it, let alone any way to get to and from work.

First and foremost, I'm terrified that this situation is going to leave me homeless, so I'm asking for help with my rent. I don't have any way to get back to work until I can find a solution for my car problems, but I can't fix this situation with my car if I lose my home. This help would buy me the time that I need to get my car figured out so that I can get back to work. I desperately want to get back to work so that I can not only take care of myself, but also so that I can get back to helping my community.
