I'm a Single Father & I'm Out of Work Due to COVID! Please Help Us Keep Our Home!
My Story:
I'm a single father of two small children. My 5-year-old daughter just started Pre-K, and she loves to sing and dance. She's always full of energy and keeps me busy, but she always puts a smile on my face when I need it most. Her little brother just turned 4 years old, and he loves to spend time playing with his older sister. They're incredibly close to each other, and we're a really happy family when we all get to spend time together.
Due to Covid-19, we've been spending a lot more time together, but it's been bittersweet. My job has been on hold for the most part due to the pandemic, and I've also lost our childcare provider as well, so my kids are home pretty much all the time. That's made things really difficult for us financially, and while I receive unemployment benefits, it's been incredibly difficult to get by. The budget is tight right now, and we're on a strict paycheck to paycheck system; however, I recently had to get my car repaired, and now we're in an impossible situation. I'm really worried that we'll fall behind on our rent this month without assistance, so I'm humbly asking for help with our rent for this month before we get behind.
Our car is our only means to get to and from anywhere, so I absolutely had to get it repaired. However, that's left us in a situation where we can't afford our rent for this month, and I'm worried we could fall behind and stay behind as a result. I'm working hard to provide for my family, but until I can get back to work, my hands are tied in this situation. Getting this help would buy me the time that I need to get back to work and to provide for my kids after that. As a father, I would be so thankful for this assistance, and I promise to do my best to pay it forward.
