I'm a Single Father Working Hard for My Children's Sakes, but I Need Help keeping Our Lights on!
My Story:
I'm a single father of three amazing children. My life revolves completely around them, but I couldn't be more grateful for that. I have two little girls and a son as well. My girls are 7 and 10 years old, and they love to jump rope and play with their dolls. My son is my oldest, but he's only 11 years old and loves to play with his toy cars. I love spending time with my kids, and at the end of the day, I'm just trying to be the best father to them that I can be.
Before the beginning of the pandemic, I was working full-time at a local hotel while also working part-time. Because the tourism and travel industries were hit so hard, I was laid-off from my full-time job at the hotel I was working at. I've been working hard to make sure that we're able to keep up with our bills, but with only part-time work, it's difficult to make sure that everything is covered. Right now, I'm in a situation where I'm stuck picking and choosing what bills I can afford to pay, and I know that I can't keep that up forever; that's why I'm asking for help with taking care of my electric and water bills.
I've been able to keep food on the table, gas in my car, and a roof over our heads, but I haven't been able to keep up with our utilities. I know that sooner or later this could result in a shut-off, and if that happens, it'll set us back even further. I'm used to working two jobs to take care of my family, but I can't seem to find a second job anywhere, and it's been difficult to balance between working and being home with my kids with just one job, so I'm worried about picking up a second one right now. However, we don't have any other way to catch up on our utility bill unless it's through this kind and generous assistance. Getting this help would get us out of this incredibly difficult situation, and for that, we couldn't be more grateful to all the people who lend us a hand right now. Thank you so much for your compassion and generosity.
