Testimonial

This person has left the following thank you note:

From the depths of my heart I am forever grateful for your generosity. There are truly no words to express the depths of my gratitude and appreciation. This year, as for many, has been extremely hard and we are so grateful for your help; having these few bills paid will help tremendously to get back on our feet. For each of your that took time to read our story and consider us, thank you so very much. This has shown us that there is still kindness in this world and hope for each of us. Again, thank you so much.

We Relocated Last Year, & After Getting COVID, We Need Help Please!

My Story:

My daughter and I recently relocated to North Carolina all the way from Ireland. It's been difficult to leave our former home behind, but we left so that my daughter could pursue her dream of becoming a ballerina and haven't looked back since. She's 17 years old and is very active and trains constantly to pursue her goal of becoming a professional ballerina. So far, we really love it here and have adjusted to our new lives pretty well. We have two dogs that we love to spend time with while exploring the outdoors.

Since moving, I found a job working full-time as the director for youth development at our local YMCA. I really love my job, but in order to keep up with all of our expenses, I picked up a second job working for Amazon. The moving expenses have been weighing us down a fair bit, so until those are taken care of, I've decided to work two jobs. Normally, both incomes are enough to get us by, but we recently ran into a really difficult situation. In March, my daughter and I both tested positive for Covid-19, and I was out of work for a total of 7 weeks due to severe complications. I have paid sick leave at my full-time job, but after that ran out and because I wasn't able to work my job at Amazon, we've had a hard time taking care of all our expenses. In fact, I still haven't been able to get back to my job at Amazon because I'm still physically recovering from having Covid-19.

We have several important bills that are all two months behind, so I'm asking, humbly, for help with paying those. First, I'm two months behind on our car payment, and I'm worried that we could lose our car as a result. The same goes for the electric bill that I'm two months behind on as well. In addition to those two bills, I'm also behind on payments for my daughter's orthodontist treatment, and I'm worried those could go to collections sooner rather than later.

My daughter and I have faith that we will make it through this difficult situation but getting a helping hand right now would be exactly what we need to get to the other side of this pandemic. Once I've physically recovered, I'll get back to my second job and will be able to keep above water on all our expenses again. My daughter and I want to end by saying 'thank you' to everyone who blesses us with this generous assistance in our time of need. We will never forget the people who support us.
