User-submitted image - Click to see real sizeI am actually so in shock right now that I'm seeing this because I'm so used to pain and suffering. I was really thinking I'm getting ready to live in my car this summer. But with this help I will be able to pay my rent and eat food without worrying about how much did I just spend but I got to eat. It's enough for 1 month but with that help it will get me over the hump for looking for a sustainable job. I know you may have given up something you wanted by giving instead. This makes me think there is some miracles that happen to people. I fill like I just witnessed it. This gave me a sense of hope. I really am thankful, I know some people may say it but do they really mean it? I do with all my injured heart.

Delivering Food After Losing My Work Hasn't been Enough to Keep up with My Rent! Please Help!

My Story:

I would consider myself to be a creative person, and I really love art and am passionate about fashion design. I'm a single woman living on my own currently, and I'm a hard worker too. It's been difficult to hold down employment through this pandemic because you never know when someone is just going to decide to downsize and lay people off.

Over the past few months, I've experienced a lot of uncertainty with my employment and have been in and out of work since losing my job in February. I started working at a different job almost immediately, but my employer was extremely demanding, which I don't have a problem with because I work hard, but they were also extremely controlling, which I do have a problem with. They were constantly monitoring employees' restroom times, and other things like that, so I decided it was too much and quit. Since then, I've had a lot of trouble making enough to get by. I've been driving for DoorDash, but the pay is barely enough to break even on my gas. The wages are truly less than poverty wages, and on top of that, I'm responsible for the wear and tear as well as the gas for my vehicle. That being said, it's the only thing I can do to even try to survive right now.

Even though I've been working as much as possible through DoorDash, I can't make enough to cover my rent for next month, and I need help before I'm given an eviction notice. I'm focused on finding a more sustainable line of work right now, but I'm worried that before that happens, I could be homeless. The fear of being homeless and not having anywhere to go is truly crippling. However, I know that with this help, I can escape that fear and get back on track again. Thank you in advance for your generosity, kindness, and for keeping me out of the dangerous cycle of poverty that I'm so close to falling into.
